Tafseer Class Notes
AA
The following are notes I took from Sh Amin's weekly tafseer class back in June. His very beneficial class starts back up soon, inshaAllah. Visit Darul Qasim's website.
- In order for harmony to exist, there are differences in economis/salaries.
- An educated person might make more $ than an educated person. An athlete that can't even speak proper English will make more $ than you imagine.
---> You can't input a religion or ideology or philosophy into this because it was what Allah wanted.
- In Islam's early days, first 100 years, you'll barely find any stories about people killing others for thier money.
- The REASON why all this happens is known only to Allah.
- When people fight to say that they're fighting to protect their interests, it's a capitalistic war, not religious.
- When you let go of YOU, Allah will come. Otherwise, it's shirk [think about it!].
---> Once you put your ideology, your Islam into the picture, He won't come. So submit yourself to Him and say, "This is what You want. Alhamdullilah."
- Let go of the consequence or outcome you try to create. ALL in hands of Allah. You can only do so much yourself, Allah takes care of the rest.
- Once He comes to you, you will the He is Praiseworthy.
- Think about the Heavens and Earth for 15 minutes a day to get a sense where you fall into the [big] picture --> it will refresh you and increase you to Allah.
- You'll realize how huge & wonderful this creation is and then realize how much greater the Creator is, though we'll never really know.
- So many species undiscovered/not tracked on earth, sea, etc., but Allah can bring them all together when He wants.
- Nothing is beyond His Will & Desire.
- The One who Gathers is the One who Spreads --> He controls traffic & flow of everything.
- Unite and let go...
---> The Prophet (sw): United the Arabs. After his (sw) death, did they stay in one area? No. Spreaded out. This is what the Prophet (sw) did...united them and then said go...
- Muslim leaders didn't interfere with the churches, temples, etc. The treatment can be seen today in, for example, India. Under Muslim rule, temples from that time still exist.
- They let people that had their own system rule and live by their rules. If they didn't have their own system, then Muslims would say, "We have a system, follow that." Didn't disturb/interfere......[Remember, it's Allah' system]
---
- In life there is another element of truth that is not known: Everyone will be fed and have rizq
- You never know what can happen to your job.
- If you knock on the right door, the right door will open.
- Allah provides for whomsoever He wants regardless of that person's iman. If Allah gave you, then you must give towards others. And don't say, "I'll give you this ONLY if..." because Allah didn't do that for you. [SubhanAllah! Just think about the depth of that...]
- Because you have access to some means doesn't mean you have supremacy. You must balance that power with kindness and subtleness.
- Havest of the Hereafter: Sow your seeds here [i.e. this world]. Take the necessary steps to plant, irrigate, etc. And reap some benefits of that here, but most in the Hereafter.
- The mindset of frustration comes when no realization that there is a life after.
- People don't realize that what they say or do has an impact...
- Exposing the intent of the legislator.
- Removing harmful things from the past is the Lowest Branch of Iman.
