Da Bears: 1-3
Hi
What can I possibly say at this moment? This is absolutely depressing, demoralizing, devastating, and whatever other "de-" words you can think of...
With just over two minutes remaining in today's game against Detroit (3-1), we blocked the extra point giving the Lions a 10 point lead; meaning that we could very well tie up the game and send it to OT for a much needed win. In fact, when Desmond Clark got that TD after that insane play/lucky call, you were still kinda hopeful that we could get our D to stop the ball and get in position for our pro-bowler to tie the game. And then we went for an on-side kick and somehow - call it nazr - the Detroit d-bags ran that back for a TD. WTF? What do you say to that?
There's about a million things going through my mind about the game. But, in the end we're 1-3. Unreal. And we're going to Lambeu Field to play the game of our lives. The GB Fudge Packers are looking like the GB Fudge Packers of old. I think it's part conspiracy because the NFL wants to give Favre the chance to break every record possible, but regardless, they're putting up points and making it look easy. That game could go very much like the Dallas game as both offenses are very potent right now (Dallas beat the 0-4 Rams 35-7 today, but the Rams suck; GB beat Minnesota 23-16 with Favre breaking Marino's 420 TD mark).
But, next week's game gives us the opportunity to make a statement if we go there and dominate...or, hell, at least win. Think about that. If we beat the 4-0 GB to be 2-3, I think things could look up. Not only do we get a W and improve to 1-1 in our conference, but we come out beating one of top teams in the league (I can't believe I just wrote that). And then we would head back to Soldier Field coming off a tremendous moral victory.
I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but you can't blame me for wanting to put today's game behind me...
